Overview:

The Buyer role is an entry-level position within the Purchasing Department focused on tracking, analyzing, forecasting and replenishing inventory levels in an efficient, precise, and timely manner.


As a Buyer, the primary responsibilities and functions are as follows:

- Analysis, tracking, and maintenance of inventory levels and item files

- Proactive and calculated replenishment of inventory to meet the needs of the sales force

- Determine proper inventory levels through the analysis of replenishment reports, generate purchase orders, and ensure that product is received in a timely manner

- Communicate with the Category Manager to ensure inventory levels are balanced based on customer needs, menu variations, and seasonal changes

Night Warehouse Loader, Wayne NJ

Basic Purpose
To load all the outbound orders into the designated equipment in compliance with company procedures and standards. This makes sure the drivers have the product safely stowed and organized for maximum efficiency for the day’s deliveries.

Conduct cargo box inspection before loading to insure cleanliness, proper temperature and that it is ready to load.


Ensure all pallets are built according to stops and are securely wrapped to avoid damage during transport.

Verify header labels on all pallets and check for damaged or outdated product before loading.

Load trailer, ensuring bulkheads are placed correctly and are secured. Also, confirm load diagram is completed and submitted.

Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area.


Use Lucas voice loading system technology to track pallet placement, truck temperature, assets utilized per route, truck number matching route number, etc.

Key Points:

This is a full time position. The work week is Sunday night-Thursday night.

This overnight position starts at 6pm and ends when the work is complete.

We select using batch method, voice selection software and labels. Our selectors are measured on productivity and accuracy.

All orders are selected using electric double pallet jacks. You must pass an equipment test and become certified in order to work as an overnight selector.


Job Requirements:

Perform all pre-shift duties including warm up and safety checks on all equipment.

Work in multi-temperature areas as assigned. Meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy while working in a safe manner.

Performs various post-shift duties that could include: Clearing aisles of all debris, returning pallet jack to charging area, and hook up jack for battery charging. Stacks empty pallets from slots in aisle. Clean up any spills and places damaged product in recoup area. Completes any related paperwork.


Must be physically able to work in the freezer and in the cooler.

Must be able to repeatedly lift more than 50 pounds throughout a shift.


Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.

Must satisfactorily complete all company mandated trainings and assessments.

Education/Training: High School Education or GED preferred.

Related Experience/Requirements: Minimum one-year recent experience in highly physical, labor intensive warehouse selection position. Minimum six months experience with warehouse material handling equipment (electric pallet jack or high low) preferred. Extensive experience operating Standup Forklifts required. Voice selection software experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to read alpha and numeric codes from pick sheets and slots. Must be team oriented and able to get along with others.


Compensation:

Training: during your 2 week training period, hourly pay is $16.50/hour

Incentive: After training, all selectors are expected to meet standards to achieve incentive pay. the range of compensation is $17.50+

JOB DESCRIPTION
Driscoll Foods is a rapidly growing, family-owned, independent foodservice distribution company. We are currently looking for night selectors to work in a busy, refrigerated & frozen warehouse selecting items for our foodservice customers. Employees must efficiently batch order select in our cold storage food distribution warehouse and palletize orders to prepare for loading. Must be able to follow prompts to locate correct slots, select correct quantities and confirm with system verbally. System is bilingual (ENGLISH and SPANISH).

REQUIREMENTS
• Eligibility to work in the US. Two forms of valid ID will be required.
• Prior experience with voice selection system and batch labels.
• Selectors should have a basic understanding of food safety/protecting quality and integrity of product so all pallets are shipped in required condition.
• Selectors should have attention to detail/ability to listen to instructions and follow accordingly to prevent errors.
• Experience as an order selector within the Food Distribution industry (proof will be required.)
• Ability to work in a cold environment (-15 degrees F) with no restrictions
• Must be able to repeatedly lift more than 50 pounds throughout a shift
• Must have experience on PE4500 Electric Stand Up Pallet Jack (see image below)

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
 We are currently hiring only those with food service distribution warehouse experience utilizing an electric pallet jack. Candidates interested must be trained/certified to be eligible. We will test all candidates that pass the screening process using the following precautionary measures: 
• Candidate will have temperature tested prior to entering building 
• All equipment is fully sanitized and will be thoroughly cleaned prior to testing
• Candidates must wear provided PPE while in our facility
• Only one candidate can be tested at a time
• Candidate and supervisor administering screening will maintain a minimum of 6 ft distance at all times
• All equipment will be sanitized again immediately post testing

Candidates that successfully pass the screening process, will be administered training using similar precautionary measures – trainer and employee will maintain minimum of 6 ft of distance. There will be no more than 1 trainee per department for each 2-week period.
